A Father's Dream, A Family's Journey

Fulfilling a Dublin Legacy

The Fitzers story began in 1949 with Frank Fitzpatrick Snr.’s fruit and vegetable wholesale business on Camden Street — a venture he always saw as a stepping stone to his real goal: a welcoming Dublin restaurant of his own.

He passed in 1975, before he could open it. Five years later his children opened the first Fitzers on Camden Street, followed by Dawson Street and Baggot Street. Fifty years after his death, the family brought his vision here to Exchequer Street.

Beyond the Plate

Crafted Dining, Authentic Atmosphere

At Fitzers Bistro & Bar your dining experience is our foremost priority, guided by our family’s belief that “business is personal, every meal an honour.”

Inspired Menus: Irish classics cooked with a classical hand and a light touch. Light bites, artisanal cheese and charcuterie boards, an extensive wine and beer list, and seasonal dishes built on ingredients from trusted Irish suppliers — Kish Fish and Pat McLoughlin among them.

Inviting Atmosphere: Step through our mosaic tile entrance into a room put together with care. Exposed Dublin brick, bentwood seating, bespoke salvage timber, and the warm glow of vintage lamps beneath linen café curtains.

Attentive Service: Hospitality here is not a performance. You’ll be looked after, not managed. Ask about our daily feature drinks, or about the top-shelf Irish whiskeys behind the bar.

Our Culinary Philosophy

From Our Family to Your Table

Our commitment to quality is unwavering, a tradition dating back to Frank Fitzpatrick Snr.’s 1949 wholesale business. We select our suppliers meticulously — Irish butcher Pat McLoughlin, fishmonger Kish Fish, and vegetables through Caterway.

Frank spent twenty-six years choosing produce before his children ever opened a restaurant. Quality was not a value this family adopted. It was the environment they grew up in.
